Terms of Service

The short version

Use WCAGsafe to scan websites you own or have permission to scan. Our reports are for informational purposes — we are a scanning tool, not a law firm. Be honest, don't abuse the service, and we will keep it running for everyone.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using WCAGsafe — whether as a free visitor or a paying customer — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms apply to all users of wcagsafe.com.

2. What WCAGsafe does

WCAGsafe scans websites for accessibility issues based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. We use automated tools to identify potential violations and provide plain-English explanations to help you understand and fix them.

Important: WCAGsafe is a scanning tool, not legal advice. Our reports highlight potential issues but do not constitute a legal audit or guarantee of ADA compliance. For formal legal compliance assessments, consult a qualified attorney or certified accessibility expert.

3. Your responsibilities

When using WCAGsafe, you agree to:

• Only scan websites you own or have explicit permission to scan
• Not use the service to scan websites for malicious purposes
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate our scanning technology
• Not abuse the free tier (e.g. using bots or multiple accounts to bypass limits)
• Provide accurate information when creating an account
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others

4. Free plan

The free plan allows up to 3 scans per day per IP address. Free scan results are stored for 30 days. We reserve the right to change free plan limits at any time with reasonable notice. Free scans show a limited set of violations — upgrade to see your full report.

5. Paid plans and billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as shown on our pricing page
• All payments are processed securely by Paddle, who acts as Merchant of Record and handles all taxes and compliance
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no mid-period refunds
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
• Refunds are handled case by case — contact us within 7 days of a charge if you have an issue

6. Accuracy of results

Our scans use axe-core, an industry-standard accessibility testing engine used by Google and Microsoft. While we strive for accuracy, automated scanning cannot catch every accessibility issue. Some issues require manual review by a human expert. WCAGsafe results should be used as a starting point, not a complete compliance checklist.

7. Limitation of liability

WCAGsafe is provided "as is." We make no guarantees that using our service will prevent ADA lawsuits or ensure legal compliance. We are not liable for any legal action taken against you or your business, or for any damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — our service.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days prior to the claim.

8. Intellectual property

The WCAGsafe name, logo, product design, and scan reports we generate are our property. Your scan results belong to you — you are free to use them however you like. You may not resell or white-label our reports without written permission.

9. Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or engage in fraudulent activity. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any unused portion of your current billing period.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of WCAGsafe after that date means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.
